About EXTEX / Upkeep

EXTEX fabrics are light fast, stain resistant, water repellent, pre-shrunk and machine washable— a combination that makes them pretty easy-care! To keep the fabrics looking fabulous however, a little looking after is required:

• Dealing with all soil or stains promptly will ensure their removal and avoid the likelihood of mildew growth and the need for intensive cleaning.
• Dry soil can simply be brushed off the fabrics.
• Liquid spills or a light shower will just bead up on the surface and roll off. With prompt action, all that is needed is a clean, dry cloth to absorb any residue.
• Spot cleaning is possible by lightly sponging the stain with a mild detergent mixed with cool water. Rinse the area thoroughly with clean water.
• Stubborn stains should be dealt with using a proprietary upholstery shampoo and by following the manufacturer’s directions — DO NOT USE BLEACH. Always test the product on an inconspicuous part of the fabric first.
• For an overall spruce-up, EXTEX is machine-washable in cool water, maximum 40°C, using a natural or mild detergent.
• EXTEX can be air-dried or tumble-dried on a low temperature setting, max. 40°C.
• Over time and repeated washing, the effectiveness of the stain-resistance will gradually reduce. This treatment can be reapplied as necessary.
